Part-2 - Drink at least two to three liters of water daily. Drink plenty of water because runners often get dry mouths as they run plus you want to stay hydrated. The cells in the body need water to function effectively. Drinking other liquids also provides your body with a source of water, but note that diuretics cause your body to expel water by going to the toilet often. Diuretics include caffeinated drinks (coffee, tea and soda) and alcohol.

Stay away from sweetened bottle drinks, especially sodas. All those colas and fizzy drinks are sweetened with plenty of sugar and sugar means calories. The more you can cut out on these sweetened bottle drinks, the better for you. So if you must drink sodas, then stick to diet sodas.

Make a habit to eat only when you are hungry. Some of us have the inclination to eat whenever we see food. Parties are use as an excuse to stuff our selves. We should understand that the effect of a whole week of dieting can be wasted by just one day's party food. When someone offers you something to eat do not refuse it completely just break of a nibble or just a little bit so that you tend to mind your manners and at the same time can watch your diet.

Smoking is bad news for losing weight. Smoking as such may not affect weight loss but smoking leads to many conditions such as erratic eating habits and over dependence on things like coffee.

Have your friend walk around the neighbourhood with you, wash the car or maybe even do some gardening instead of going to the beach and doing nothing all day, choose to do something more exciting that helps you keep fit, healthy and looking good at the same time. Look for opportunities to use your body that focuses on slowly developing good life long food and exercise habits. There is no set time frame for results; dieters should take each step of the program at their own pace. Choose a nutritionally balanced plan with enough calories to keep you from feeling famished.

Walking is always a good form of exercise to start with. We use so many muscles while walking. Walking helps relationships, makes one forget worries, and eases the mind. It aids digestion, stimulates the brain, and helps the blood flow evenly throughout the body. Walking at a brisk pace produces longer workouts with less soreness - leading to more miles and more fat burnt off on a regular basis. High intensity walks on alternate days helps condition one's body. Walking is a great form of exercise. Other exercise options include going to local gyms, community pools, and other exercise classes.
