Stamina training and strength training influence the structure of your body differently and how you burn fat . Stamina training increase your muscles capacity to produce and use the energy they need to contract,since you are adding more powerful cyclers,but muscle is a different matter this requires strength training that builds you up,making you a bigger stronger and sturdier muscle fiber structure,this is because when you do any resistance training pulling or pushing some kind of weight ,you create tiny tears in your muscle fibers,your body reacts to this by saying if tear down my frame i will build a stronger and bigger one next time by doing this regularly you will body will burn fat faster because muscle serves as a primary energy consumer for the body.
In your mid thirties if you are stable in your weight ,but do any kind of strength or resistance training you will put fat on that's fact,when your muscle ages you lose the protein that makes up your muscle,this is what gives your the ability to have strength and stamina,when you are exercising this rebuilds and maintains protein and muscle mass which prevents you from putting on weight which will burn fat. walking for 30 minutes a day will build stamina and strength based proteins this will prepare you for strength/resistance training session of thirty minutes training a week required to rebuild the strength based proteins.
Exercise increases the metabolism so that you burn fat faster at a higher rate than if you didn't exercise,it also reduces your appetite by turning on your sympathetic nervous system,which activates your flight or fight response.Do the experiment yourself,take a quick walk or jog when you feel the first burst of hunger it will be gone when you get back.
Exercise will help you lose the extra weight that's stressing your joints,by burning the fat ,you'll feel less pain in your knees,hips,ankles and back,and that will put you into a positive cycle of behaviour in turn you will want to exercise more.
Exercise stimulates the release of endorphins which stimulate the pleasure nerves in the brain,when these nerves are stimulated they give you a sense of being in control,which is associated with a decreased need to eat out of control.
Exercise is great for relieving you of depression it gives you a positive outlook on life ,you will make better choices and not have to use food as your medication.
Eating the right fat burning foods and exercising will keep your blood vessels open and clog free ,this will help in lowering your risk of fat related morbidities like high blood pressure,elevated lousy cholesterol,memory problems and heart attacks.
