I discovered this book about 12 years ago at my local library and decided to read it. It was time well spent. It gave me a better understanding of my body and how what we consume and our environment impacts us negatively. I tried the program and did the kidney, liver and colon cleanse. I was much satisfied with the results and just overall felt better. I plan to do it again soon. Definitely worth purchasing for your home library and as a tool to detox your body.

while i’m sure this author has the best intentions, he neglects to point out detox may not be for everyone, especially people with adrenal fatigue. ppl with adrenal fatigue need to maintain steady blood sugar levels, which means fasting is no good, and also detoxing itself can be taxing on the adrenals.

for myself, i followed his advice on the liver flush, and felt much worse after doing it. i had constipation, indigestion, and was very weak for a week or so. even now, indigestion is still bothering me. i think these problems were dormant, but once my adrenals were so weakened by the liver flush, they all exploded to the surface. i feel it is somewhat irresponsible for the author to make it as if detoxing is the way to good health for everyone. for some, they might have to build up their adrenals first.

The book is well written with an amazing amount of information in it. It has a lot of do it yourself help pages that are easy to understand. This is a must book to buy.

Phenomenal book! It really has just about everything you would need to know about the subject. Aside from a couple of minor typos, it’s extremely well-written and engaging. What’s really nice is that the author covers all the bases…I was left with very few unanswered questions after reading the entire book. I’ve just completed a fast, kidney cleanse, and liver cleanse and everything that was mentioned was right on the money. My eyes have brightened up tremendously and a fibromyalgia-type pain and numbness in my leg that has been bothering me for several months gone. One thing that was unexpected is the psychological effects that its caused as well – just astounding! My overall mood (which I thought was pretty good before) has improved, my ability to cope with stresses is increased, and I’ve shed myself of some addictive behaviors (completely quit smoking – it was on its way out the door before – and totally lost any desire to drink alcohol). One caveat…this is no quick fix, it really does require a lifestyle change. However, in one review they mention that the author says not to eat meat at all and pushes a vegetarian agenda. This is not the case. The author simply says that the amount of protein that we consume is far in excess of what is necessary and recommends cutting meat down to smaller servings 2 or 3 times a week (and only organic meat, the fat which is in all meat and dairy is basically a toxin sponge).
